  1. Follow Catherine Langford, the young woman who witnessed her father uncover the Stargate in Giza in 1928, as she embarks on an unexpected adventure to unlock the mystery of what lies beyond the Stargate in order to save Earth from unimaginable darkness.
  2. The adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team traveling on the Ancient spaceship Destiny many billions of light years distant from the Milky Way Galaxy. They evacuated there and are now trying to figure out a way to return to Earth, while simultaneously trying to explore and to survive in their unknown area of the universe.
  3. With the Ancients' city of Atlantis discovered in the Pegasus Galaxy by Stargate Command, Dr. Elizabeth Weir and Major Sheppard lead a scientific expedition to the ancient abandoned city. Once there, the team not only find themselves unable to contact Earth, but their explorations unexpectedly reawaken the Ancients' deadly enemies, The Wraith, who hunger for this new prey. Now with the help of newfound local allies like Teyla Emmagan, the Atlantis Team sets about to uncover their new home's secrets even as their war of survival against the Wraith begins.
  4. The story of Stargate SG-1 begins about a year after the events of the feature film, when the United States government learns that an ancient alien device called the Stargate can access a network of such devices on a multitude of planets. SG-1 is an elite Air Force special operations team, one of more than two dozen teams from Earth who explore the galaxy and defend against alien threats such as the Goa'uld, Replicators, and the Ori.
A shift into the world of crime, particularly drug crime, in Hong Kong sometime in the 1940's. A Wing Chun master who has reclused into being a shopkeeper is drawn into this menagerie of drugs, bars, entertainment, and the corruption of the local police force. I can't begin to say just how amazing the fight sequences are - even if some are a little over the top in parts - but the mesmerise and keep your attention firmly glued to the screen. A supposed legitimate foreigner businessman is at the heart of heroin distribution and a corrupt crime organisations leader wants the 'company' to clean up its act and become legitimate. This is where the two cross over as the brother of the organisation that wants to go clean is in bed with the supposed legitimate gentleman (I use the word with caution lol) and is distributing the heroin. In the meantime, the corrupt police are accepting hush money to do the bidding of their payroll masters. Caught up in all of this is Zhang Jin (the Wing Chun master) and his young son - drawn into the conflicts because of an untimely event that sees him saving a young woman from being beaten his shop is burned out and he becomes a target of the corrupt brother of Sis Ha (played by Michelle Yeoh). It all blossoms from this chance encounter as to how Zhang Jin's life unfolds as he is drawn further into the corruption and attempts to make things right; which he achieves with a little help. Great movie, immersive story, if a little predictable, but the action sequences steal the show as they are choreographed to perfection. Just watch it - BTW the subtitles do not detract.

    Master Z

Great movie, fantastic martial arts choreography, relevant story and quite immersive. Well worth watching if you're a fan of martial arts movies.
  6. Following his defeat by Master Ip, Cheung Tin Chi tries to make a life with his young son in Hong Kong, waiting tables at a bar that caters to expats. But it's not long before the mix of foreigners, money, and triad leaders draw him once again to the fight.
  7. Weird movie - don't read my brief review if you intend to watch this as there are spoilers in there.
Spoiler Alert - don't read any further until you've seen the movie! I'd have given this movie five stars if it hadn't been for the weird ending. Five American GI's in WW2 are tasked with guarding a chateau (reason unknown), but it's haunted by its previous owners all of whom were killed by the Germans. It was all playing out nicely with quite a few jumpy moments, well scripted, well-acted and some nice action sequences, and then came the ending. What the hell was all that about? The GI's were actually in Afghanistan, blown to bits by some crazed woman and they were in some kind of Sci-Fi setting with all manner of gizmos attached to their heads, talk about walking off a cliff edge. It just suddenly ended with no further explanations. Good movie gone bad.
  8. A group of World War II American soldiers encounter a supernatural enemy as they occupy a French castle previously under Nazi control.
  9. It is a fun movie, plenty of laughs and great for all the family to watch. Walter Matthau is so funny and that scene with the mouthwash was just side breakingly funny.
  10. A re-imagining of the 1980's miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent.
  11. Once again, Earth is the battleground. But now the aliens whose human guise hides their true reptilian natures are wiser. They believe the secret to their survival on Earth lies in the DNA of the newly born half-human, half-spaceling Starchild. But that's something the world's Resistance Fighters cannot allow.
  12. Classic comedy set in fading department store Grace Brothers.
  13. Good movie, well worth a watch if you like home invasion movies.
