Dark Phoenix ( 2019 )
The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy.
Never ceases to amaze me how people can dismiss a movie out of hand without good reason. The thing to remember is that it's a 'movie' and it can't always follow a printed story to the letter. I loved this movie despite all of the criticism levelled at it, and it was as good as any other X-Men movie. Good effects, good cast, good story (I never did get to read the comic version) and a tribute to the franchise. I loved it for what it was, nothing more, nothing less.
